Ulin, including the type of tree whose height can reach 50 m in diameter and 120 cm. This tree grows in the lowlands to an altitude of 400 m. Ulin generally grows at an altitude of 500-400 m above sea level with flat to sloping terrain, growing scattered or clustered in mixed forests but very rarely found in the marsh habitat. Ulin wood is also resistant to changes in temperature, humidity, and the influence of sea water so that the nature of the wood is very heavy and hard. Ironwood tree somewhat apart from other trees and surrounded by a circular path of ironwood. At the bottom of ironwood trees are part of the perforated.
The tree is somewhat separate from other trees and surrounded by a circular path of ironwood. At the bottom there is the hollow tree.
Ulin type of wood from trees is not easy either rotted in the water and darata. That is why wood is widely used as building material, especially for homes built on marshy ground.
Unfortunately, this tree can not grow at all forest areas. Usually grow on the plateau with sandy soil. Therefore, breeding and cultivation is rather difficult.
Natural breeding process in the logged forests are generally less well run. Seed germination Ulin takes a long time about 6-12 months with a relatively low percentage of success, the production of fruit per tree is generally too little. The spread of natural regeneration in general tend to cluster. Ulin grown in lowland primary and secondary forests to a height of 500m. Ulin seeds rather well drained soil, sandy clay to clay, sometimes limestone. It is commonly found along river and adjacent hills. It requires an average annual rainfall of 2500-4000 mm

  1. The medium gray-green foliage is evergreen and fine-textured, casting a filtered shade; to my eye the overall look is reminiscent of an olive tree.Tree Nursery Co
